Americana / country cross

"My latest songs are nothing like the tradition- based English Folk Music I first started writing", says Mark.

As you’ll hear, Mark’s current material reflects his move to the States, sliding more into an Americana / Country cross, kinda vibe.

One of Mark’s main heroes is James Taylor and there is a certain Sweet Baby James feel to his new songs, combined with a touch of early Eagles… but there still remains a slight Van Morrison nod to his Celtic roots too.

I Can’t Make You Love Me

Mark Colgan

This is the first of many pure Country songs written recently by Mark. In the style of the early Eagles, this one seems to be crying out for a cover. Produced by Andy Walhberg for Mark Colgan.

Angelina

Mark Colgan

Many people have commented that Angelina sounds like the signature song from a movie. It is beautifully arranged and produced by Andy Wahlberg and tells a tale of the singer's unrequited love for a girl.

All Time Girl

Mark Colgan

This song is about Mark's American wife moving with him back home to the USA after many years in England. A somewhat haunting ballad with a slight Country feel, it’s perfect for a ballad singer or perhaps the theme for a TV show.
